Welcome

The B. B. Zeitlyn Psychotherapy Training Fund was founded by Alice Zeitlyn in November 1980 in memory of her late husband Dr Bernard Zeitlyn, Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist at Addenbrooke's Hospital from 1956 until his tragic death in a road accident in 1979.

The Fund was set up to support and promote knowledge and practice of psychotherapy, and specifically to assist those who are undertaking an approved professional training in individual psychoanalytic or Jungian Analytic psychotherapy with children, adolescents or adults. The Fund achieves these aims through the provision of grants and loans to individuals who are undertaking such a training, through its programme of lectures and seminars, and by supporting the work of nationally recognized Training establishments for psychoanalytic and Jungian Analytic psychotherapy.  Additionally, the Training Fund supports and maintains the B. B. Zeitlyn Library, an extensive collection of classic and modern texts and learned journals on psychotherapy, generously donated by Alice Zeitlyn and subsequently enlarged by other donations, bequests and by ongoing subscriptions.

The Fund has traditionally worked in close conjunction with the Psychological Treatment Services, Cambridge, which is part of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.

The B.B. Zeitlyn Training Psychotherapy Training Fund is independently administered by a Board of Trustees. Applications for loans and grants are considered by a Board of Management which meets regularly through the year.

The current chairman of the Board of Management is Martha Stevns.
